Realworld Sharing with Facebook

Yesterday, we released a new version of the BeeTagg QR Generator. Now you can create Facebook Share Codes.

You surely know the Facebook Share Button which you can find on almost every website. It looks like this:

(Btw. this button works. So if you like this post click it and share with other people)

Add such a button to your own website and users will share and promote your content or business with others.

A Facebook Share Code works similarly. Instead of having a link/button on a website you can print the code and stick it somewhere. When a user scans the code he can share your message with one click. Check the example below.

Restaurant example:

Imagine you own a restaurant and want your visitors to share the (hopefully) great experience. 

That's how you do it:

1. Visit BeeTagg QR Generator
2. Click the Facebook tab
3. Enter your message and confirm
4. Print the code and stick it somewhere visitors can see it

Very easy!

And when a user clicks the code, he will be redirected to this page:

Of course, you can also use QR Codes or Datamatrix Codes.

Facebook integrating QR Codes

It's great to see that the big names are starting with Mobile Tagging.

Some weeks ago Google introduced QR Codes for Favorite Places:

It's currently only available in the U.S. but hopefully soon in other parts of the world, too.

Today - for the first time - we noticed a "View QR Barcode" link below a user's profile picture in Facebook.

The first one

In February 2005, we wrote the first lines of code for the BeeTagg QR System. Now, 5 years later we proudly start our own blog (hmm, took us quite some time to get that thing up and running).

In a very informal way, we want to keep you up to date and tell you about news, products, campaigns, features, updates, problems and bugs (oh yes, they make our lifes hard, but also interesting).

If you have no idea what BeeTaggs or QR Codes are, try the following:

1. Install the BeeTagg QR Reader on your phone: Visit http://get.beetagg.com with your phone’s browser.

2. Start the reader and scan one of the codes on the left.

3. Imagine what you can do with this (Hints: Marketing, Logistics,  Retailers, Price comparison)
